Introduction
Eco clubs are the voluntary organizations formed by the students and they are directed
by the Science Teachers of the concerned
schools. The students of the school can join this club with their own will and wish. It is one type of organization which acts as an intermediate in between the students and environment. The main aim of this club is to bring environment awareness among the students.
Govt Higher Primary School Bidadi formed the Eco-Club
on 13-06-2018 on the same day told the aim and activities of the Eco-Club are explained by the Science Teacher and the Headmaster, 26 students had come forwarded
to join the Eco-Club.
The name of the eco-club is “Nisarga Srusti”.The activities undertaken by the eco-club regarding the environmental awareness are exceptional. Our school Science teacher
Mr. Rajanna M G is the co-ordinator of Eco-Club.
The following
activities have been
accomplished by this school in a well determined manner.
- School garden have been established and the students are given the responsibility to maintain the garden. There are around 50 plants in the garden many of them are medicinal plants.
- Vermicomposting tank is set up in the school garden area. Students
maintained and monitor the compost
tank and the compost
is uses for garden throughout the year.
- Local farmer came to school &
taught students making of vermicompost.
- Celebrated world environment day in school on 5th June-2018. On that day students cleaned the garden and surroundings of the school they removed the weeds in the garden and manures the garden which was prepared in the school by students.
- On 25-06-2018 started waste segregation in school placed separate bin to put dry and wet wastes the Purpose is to recycle dry wastes and to use wet waste and compost when we segregate waste, the surroundings will be cleaned and students learn to clean their environment to get clean air and reduce air and water pollution.
- Eco-Club members conducted Drawing Competition on “Water Conservation”. There was a prize distribution at
the end of the competition.
- Eco-Club members conducted
essay Competition on “Swachh Bharath”. There was a prize distribution at the end of the
competition.
- Used the Eco friendly Ganesha Idols on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi festival
and dis carded in the nearby pond by
students.
- Conducted expert talks on clay Ganapati Idol & no cracker on Shri H K Puttaveere Gowda Our Art Teacher given speech on air pollution due to bursting of fire-crackers and health hazards. Also remind students about clay Ganapati Idol which do not harm environment and statue made of plaster of Paris do not dissolve in water easily & reduces Oxygen level in water.
- Vanamahotsava day have been celebrated through plantation.
- Eco club members organised a quiz competition on the occasion of National Science Day.

Conclusion
Thus the activities organized by our Eco Club has contributed in creating
awareness about the conservation of environment and also strengthened our member’s
capacity to conduct such activities which provides support to the programme
of ecological balance and gives us a life
friendly environment to every organism
which contributes
for rich tradition of this unique world.
