In recent decades we have seen water scarcity in every
nation. Governments locally and globally are introducing new techniques to save
water at each level of its usage. Drip irrigation is also one of the new
techniques being used in agriculture to save loss of water from the Evaporation
process. To some extent this technique is saving water from the loss due to
Evaporation. My question is that can’t we go little forward in saving more
water in this method. My answer is yes, we can. In this regard I thought of a
plan to improvise the existing drip irrigation system with little modification
to avoid water evaporation from topmost soil. For this purpose, I planned to
insert half inch PVC pipes with holes into the soil beside each plant to feed
from bottom to top layer of the soil. These PVC pipes are connected to main
drip pipes as usual.
